Noeli Mantjantja Roberts is Ngaanyatjarra Media’s Senior Wati (male) Cultural Officer. Mantjantja is a strong cultural man.  He organises and participates in numerous cultural events on the lands.  He is an original founding member of Ngaanyatjarra Media when it was known as Irrunytju Media (1992).  Mantjantja nurtured the organisation and traveled around the lands getting other communities to join BRACS (Broadcast for Remote Aboriginal Communities Scheme).  Now, over 15 years on, those 14 communities form the basis for Ngaanyatjarra Media.

Mantjantja has produced more than 50 videos for Ngaanyatjarra Media.  He was a director and producer of the “Minyma Kutjara Tjukurrpa” that won a Tudawali award for Best Language Documentary in 2000.  He also produces regular radio programs on the Mantamaru community radio. He travels extensively throughout the lands helping to train and recruit media workers.

Mantjantja is a well known and respected media worker on the Ngaanyatjarra lands and plays a major role in the direction and coordination of the media organisation.  He is a prominent spokesperson for the issues affecting media workers on the Ngaanyatjarra lands and was recently awarded with the “Preston Award” (2006) for his contribution to the Indigenous Media industry over many years
